The Line: Detroit Pistons -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Two teams in need of a win collide on Friday as the Detroit Pistons host the Atlanta Hawks.
The Pistons are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games, but just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss. The Hawks on the other hand are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points, but just 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games and 0-6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
I think it's fair to say that niether the Detroit Pistons or Atlanta Hawks enter tonight's contest in the best of form. Having just won three straight games since the firing of head coach Mo Cheeks at the start of the month, the Pistons have reverted back to their losing ways recently, dropping consecutive games to the Charlotte Bobcats by a combined 30 points to make it three straight defeats. Meanwhile, the Hawks dropped their seventh straight game after their 114-97 defeat at home against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. Atlanta has only won the single games this month after taking down Minnesota on the 1st.
The Hawks have had the better of the Pistons for the last couple of years and that has continued through to this season as they have won both meetings so far. Atlanta has kept Detroit into check on both occasions, holding them to 85 and 89 points, respectively. The Hawks have now won eight of their last 10 against the Mo-Town crew.
