For the third and final time during the regular season, the Memphis Grizzles and Los Angeles Clippers will battle it out on the hardwood. They have split the previous two meetings.
The Clippers have won three of their last five games, but are coming off a 10-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Chris Paul shot 1-10 from the field, while the Spurs knocked down 50 percent of their shots. Defense has been a problem for them as of late, as they’re allowing teams to score 105.8 points in their last five games. However, they’ve been able to get away with it for the most part considering they’re averaging 115.6 points during those games. The Clippers are 31-25 ATS overall and 17-11 ATS on the road.

The Grizzles are enjoying a three-game winning streak thanks to great play on the defensive end. They have not allowed a 100-point game in five straight contests and are holding teams to just 42 percent shooting in those games. At home they give up 96.9 points on 43.6 percent shooting. Offensively, they average 96.2 points on their home court. The Grizzles are 24-28-1 ATS on the season and 10-19 ATS at home.
The Clippers have lost five straight games when failing to score at least 100 points. Their defense just isn’t good enough to keep them in games, which is why they must put up video game numbers offensively.
That’s why I like Memphis as a home dog. The Grizzles pride themselves on defense and will control the tempo of the game, taking the Clippers out of their element.
Memphis is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games against teams with a winning SU record and is 6-1 ATS in its last six games against the Clippers.
This will be a slow-paced game that favors the home team.
