The Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz will play their second and final game against one another during the regular season. These teams met back in early November and the Celtics won 97-87.

The Celtics have now lost four in a row and five of their last six games. During this stretch, they’re averaging 95.6 points on 42.1 percent shooting and allowing 99.2 points on 47.4 percent shooting. They’ve scored 100 or more points only twice in their last 13 games. The problem is they’ve allowed triple digits in five of their last six games. On the road they average 94.6 points and allow 100.6 points. They are 27-29-1 ATS overall and 16-13 ATS on the road.

After winning three straight games, the Jazz matched that with a three-game losing streak. In their last five games, they’re averaging 99.6 points on 44.6 percent shooting and giving up 101.4 points on 45.7 percent shooting. Eight of their last nine losses have come when they’ve failed to hit the 100-point mark. At home, they average 99.6 points and allow 101.4 points. They are 24-28-3 ATS overall and 11-15-2 ATS on their home court.

This is really going to be an ugly basketball game between two teams that are hoping to end up with a solid pick in the upcoming NBA draft. In this case you have to go with the home team and the small chalk. The Celtics have lost all three games on their four-game road trip and are allowing teams to shoot 40.4 percent from beyond the arc in their last four games. The Jazz also haven’t had the easiest schedule since returning from the All-Star break with Portland, Brooklyn and Minnesota on tap.

The favorite is 6-1-1 in the last eight meetings between these two teams, and the Celtics are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games played on one day’s rest.

I expect the Jazz to get back on track.
