The Minnesota Timberwolves will have their hands full on Tuesday night when the T-Wolves head to Phoenix to face off against the Suns.
The Phoenix Suns are currently in eighth place in the West, holding a two game lead over the Memphis Grizzlies for the final playoff spot. The Suns have had a very good season, but in the competitive West, you are always in danger of losing your spot. The Suns have an outstanding offense this season, putting up an impressive average of 105.1 points per game this season. The defense has let the Suns down at times, but if Phoenix can continue to put up points in bunches, the Suns will be a tough out. Phoenix did fall in their last outing, dropping a winnable game against the Rockets on Sunday 115-112.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are just two games back of the .500 mark at this point, having a record of 27-29 on the season. That isn’t horrible, but a record like that won’t get it done in the West as the Timberwolves are currently six and a half games out of the playoffs if the season were to end today. Minnesota does have one of the better scorers in the game right now in Kevin Love, who is putting up an impressive 26.5 points per game this season. The Timberwolves are coming off a loss to the Trail Blazers in their last outing, falling to Portland 108-97 on Sunday.
The Timberwolves are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games following a double digit loss, and Minnesota is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games against the Pacific. The Timberwolves are also 1-5 against the spread in their last six games following an outright loss.
The Suns are 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 games overall, and the Suns are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games after allowing triple digits the outing before.
I’m going with the under here. The total has gone under the projection in three of the last four games between the Timberwolves and the Suns, and I look for more of the same here on Tuesday. Both teams need this win right now, so look for the defenses to be on their game, keeping the scoring down.
