The New Orleans Pelicans will be facing off against the Clippers on Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Clippers are sitting at 40-20 this season, which his good enough to earn the Clippers the fourth spot in the West at this time. Los Angeles has an outstanding offense, putting up 107.2 points per game this season, good enough for second in the league in scoring offense. The defense has struggled at times, but the Clippers are improving on that end of the floor, something that is must if the Clippers want to earn wins in the playoffs. Los Angeles has won three straight heading into this meeting with the Pelicans, with their latest victory coming on Wednesday, when the Clippers shut down the Rockets, defeating Houston 101-93.

The New Orleans Pelicans don’t have the shiniest of all the records in the league this season, but still 23-34 is a definite improvement for this team. The Pelicans more than likely will be sitting out the playoffs this season, as the Pelicans are currently ten games back of the eight seed Suns in the West. That being the case, this team has improved and look to be a playmaker or two away from making some noise in this league. New Orleans is struggling as of late however, dropping five in a row heading into Los Angeles on Saturday.
The Pelicans are just 1-4-2 against the spread in their last seven games on the road, and New Orleans is just 1-5-2 against the spread in their last eight games overall. The Pelicans are also 2-5-2 against the spread in their last nine games playing on no rest.
The Clippers are 5-2 against the spread when at home against teams with a losing record on the road, and the Clippers are 7-3 against the spread in their last ten games against teams with losing records.
This is a ton of points, but in this spot I’ll lay it. The Clippers are always tough at home, and Los Angeles still has plenty to play for at this point in the season. The Clippers will be well rested and prepared, and that is not a good thing for the Pelicans here on Saturday.
