The Portland Trail Blazers hope to make light work of the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night from the Moda Center.
Head to head, the Nuggets are 1-5-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings and 1-3-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Portland while the road team is 5-0-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and the underdog is 5-1-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The Nuggets are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, but just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Trail Blazers on the other hand are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall, but just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 2 days rest.
Boy have the Denver Nuggets sucked these past couple of weeks. Sure they are without a legitimate point gaurd, but that doesn't exuse some of their recent results as they have dropped four straight and nine of 10 overall. Those nine losses have come by an average of 20 points per contest and it's not like there schedule has been that tough either as four of their last six games have come at home. Of those nine losses, only two of them have come by single digits and they are coming off a 112-89 beat down at home in their last outing against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night.
On the flipside, the Portland Trail Blazers blew out those same Nets in their last game, cruising to a 44-point victory on Wednesday night. Considering Denver lost to Brooklyn by 23 and the Trail Blazers just beat them by 44, that means Portland should defeat the Nuggets by around 77 points tonight right? The Trail Blazers have now won four straight despite the absence of LaMarcus Aldridge.
I just don't see how you could take Denver here and feel confident about it. Take away the Philadelphia 76ers and the Nuggets have been the worst team in the league these past couple of weeks. Portland or nothing here folks..
