The Chicago Bulls look for their fourth straight victory over the Brooklyn Nets tonight.
Head to head, the Bulls are 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Brooklyn. The Nets are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games and 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest, but just 6-14 ATS in their last 20 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days. The Bulls on the other hand are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record, 13-3 ATS in their last 16 vs. Eastern Conference and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.
Check out those Chicago Bulls. Winners of four straight and nine of 10 overall, this team continues their climb up the Eastern Conference standings, now sitting in fourth spot with a little over 20 games remaining in the regular season. Only one other team in the NBA can say they have won nine of their past 10 matches, and that's the reigning champion Miami Heat, which just to happens to be the team that Chicago fell to, losing in South Beach 93-79 a little less than two weeks ago. Apart from that loss in Miami, the Bulls have been rock solid away from home lately, winning four of their last five road games.
The Brooklyn Nets return home from a lengthy seven-game road trip, having gone 4-3 thanks to wins in Denver and Milwaukee to close out the trip. Even though they won more game than they lost, all four victories came against sub .500 teams and let's not forget that 44-point beat down in Portland against a Trail Blazers squad minus LaMarcus Aldridge. Still, the Nets are 6-3 in their last nine overall and generally taking care of business, but you just get a feeling that a first-round exit is inevitable for this squad come playoff time.
I know I say this everytime and I will continue to do so, but teams coming off a long road trip very rarely play a good game in their first home outing. As far the Nets are concerned, they are just 6-14 against the spread in their last 20 home games following a road trip of seven or more days, granted that goes pretty far back. The Bulls are on a back-to-back themselves, but I don't think it's really going to bother them at all. Give me Chi-Town getting points all the way...
