I can understand why the Golden State Warriors are the overwhelming favorites in this one, but I’m not sure I totally agree with it. For one, they are coming off an emotional victory in Indiana last night thanks to a Klay Thompson jumper at the buzzer, so we could definitely see a bit of a ‘let down’ for them tonight. This will also be there sixth straight road game and third game in four nights, which can’t be overlooked. Not only that, but have a look at the results on their road trip so far: They opened up with a win in Detroit, then got pounded in Chicago in their next game. They then responded with a big win in New York only to lose in Toronto in there next outing. So if we go by what’s happened so far, then they are due for a loss tonight. Another thing that can’t be discounted is the fact that they are only 3-9-1 against the spread in their last 13 games following a straight up win and 7-17-1 ATS in their last 25 following an against the spread win.
Boston on the other hand should be nice and rested for this contest as they have only played two home games since the 24th of last month. Those two home games I speak consist of a 115-104 victory over the Atlanta Hawks then a tough fought 102-97 loss against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. If they can keep it close with the Pacers, then one would assume they can do the same against what should be a very tired Warriors outfit. Plus, Boston nearly beat Golden State at their place already this season, norrowly falling 99-97.
There you have it. Golden State clearly has the better team of the two, but I think the odds are stacked against them in this one...
