The Toronto Raptors head to Brooklyn on Monday night to face off against the pesky Nets.
The Brooklyn Nets have been on a tear lately, and now the Nets are one game above the .500 mark, having a record of 31-30 on the season. The Nets currently own the sixth spot in the East, but Brooklyn is hot on the tails of the Bulls and the Wizards. Brooklyn struggled to start off the season, but the Nets have been playing great lately, getting them back into the playoff hunt in the weak East. The Nets have won five of their last six heading into Monday’s meeting with the Raptors, with their last outing coming on Sunday, where the Nets defeated the Kings in Brooklyn 104-89.

The Toronto Raptors are having a strong season this year, as the Raptors own the third spot in the East currently, having a record 35-26 on the season. Toronto however is locked in a battle with the rest of the East to hold onto their spots, so there is no getting comfortable here. Toronto has won six of their last seven games heading into Monday’s meeting with the Nets, including three wins in a row. The Raptors latest win came on Sunday night against the Timberwolves in Minnesota 111-104.
The Raptors are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five games on Monday nights, and the Raptors are a solid 20-7 against the spread in their last 27 games on the road. Toronto is also 16-5 against the spread in their last 21 games on the road against teams with a winning home record.
The Nets are 5-0 against the spread in their last five home games, and Brooklyn is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall. The Nets are also 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games against a team with a winning home record.
The Nets are playing solid, but giving up three points to this Toronto team right now is tough to do. I know Brooklyn is at home, but the Raptors still look to be the better squad and I like Toronto to cover this small number at least on Monday, if not win the game outright.
