The Brooklyn Nets travel down to South Beach for another matchup against the Miami Heat on Wednesday. This is the third of four scheduled meetings this season, and the Nets won the first two.
The Nets are starting to look a lot like the contender we thought they were going to be, as they have won six of their last seven games. Just in their last five, they’re averaging 97.6 points on 47.1 percent shooting and are holding teams to 90.2 points on 45.4 percent shooting. They haven’t allowed a 100-point performance in seven straight games, as the defense is now Top 10 in the league. On the road, the Nets average 94.9 points and allow 100.3 points. They are 33-29 ATS overall and 14-16 ATS on the road.

The Heat just snapped a three-game losing streak with a Monday win over Washington. LeBron James broke out of his mini slump, scoring 23 points and dishing out eight assists. They’ve now won nine of their last 12 games. In their last five games, their defense has slipped a little bit, as they’re allowing 101.8 points on 46.9 percent shooting. The offense is still efficient, shooting 47.5 percent and scoring 100.2 points. At home, the Heat average 106.9 points and allow 98.5 points. They are 28-31-2 ATS overall and 12-16-1 ATS at home.
The Nets have covered six of their last seven games and are 12-2 in their last 14 playing on one day’s rest. The Heat are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five home games and 5-1-2 ATS in their last eight following a SU victory.
The home team is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings between these two teams and the Nets are 1-4 ATS in their last five games in Miami.
The Nets matchup well with the Heat and have really given them fits the last two games. While the Heat should win this game, I see Brooklyn putting up another fight and keeping this thing below the projected number.
