One thing I’ve noticed about the Utah Jazz this season is that their offense is so much better when playing on their home court , which is the case for most teams in the NBA, but especially the Jazz. Let’s just look at their results since the first of February shall we. In their 10 road games since that period they are averaging just 89.2 points per contest, compared to their average at home which is 101.2 over the span of eight games. That’s a 12-point swing. In their last six games at EnergySolutions Arena, they are pouring in a shade over 106 points per contest and as a result, the over has hit in five of those matches.
While the Dallas Mavericks struggled big time last night in Golden State, scoring a measly 85 points on just 36 percent shooting, that was a one off more than anything else. See, in their previous 10 games, they had averaged 107.6 points per game and had scored 110 or greater in four of those contests. As a result, the over had hit in seven of those 10 games. After scoring just 85 against the Warriors last night, you can bet they will want a strong offensive showing tonight.
There you have it. We have established that the Jazz are actually a pretty potent offensive team when playing at home and to be honest I really don’t think it matters where Dallas play, just look at their super impressive road numbers against the spread. While Utah has only put up 93 and 81 points against the Mavs this season, both games were in Dallas. I think this is one of the strongest plays on the board tonight, if not the strongest.
