The Line: Sacramento Kings -1.5 -- Over/Under: 202 See the Latest Odds
Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks travel to Sacramento to face the Kings on Wednesday night.
The Kings are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall, but just 9-19 ATS in their last 28 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The Knicks on the other hand are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference, but just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest.
Despite being 12 games below .500, the New York Knicks playoff hopes are still very much alive as they trail the eighth place Atlanta Hawks by just 2.5 games with around a dozen matches remaining in the regular season. Thanks to their recent eight-game winning streak, which was snapped after their 106-100 home loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, the Knicks have kept their dream of making the playoffs alive and every game from here on out is critical to their chances.
The Sacramento Kings on the other hand have been the same team they have been for the last couple of years, an under-achieving, inconsitent squad that constantly finishes in the lottery year after year. Just look at their last two games as an example. After scoring just 79 points in a blowout home loss against San Antonio, the Kings then responded with a 124-107 win over a pretty resilient Milwaukee Bucks squad. You just never know what your going to get from this Sacramento team.
Given what's at stake with every passing game for New York, you would have to like their chances in this one. However, I think the over has more value. There was a period during the Knicks recent winning streak where they scored 107 or greater in six straight contests. The Kings have topped 117 or more in two of their last three and they love a shootout themselves...
