The Golden State Warriors and the New York Knicks face off on Sunday in NBA action.
The Golden State Warriors are in a dogfight in the NBA Western Conference as playoff position is still up for grabs. The Warriors are 7-3 in their last 10 games and 24-12 at home this season as they are currently sixth in the West. Stephen Curry is the leader of Golden State averaging 23.6 points and 8.5 assists per game. David lee is doubtful for this one but he is averaging 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, Klay Thompson is averaging 18.1 points, and Harrison Barnes is averaging 9.3 points. The Warriors are averaging 103.4 points and they are shooting 45.9 percent form the field including 37.5 percent from beyond the three-point arc while Golden State is allowing 98.9 points and their opponents are shooting 43.5 percent. Golden State could end up anywhere between third in the West and out of the playoffs entirely depending on how they play the rest of the way.

The New York Knicks have had a trying season but even so they find themselves in the mix for a playoff spot. The Knicks are 7-3 in their last 10 games but they are 14-22 on the road this season. Carmelo Anthony is the Knicks best player averaging 28.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. J.R. Smith is averaging 13.4 points, Amar’e Stoudemire is averaging 11.5 points, and Tim Hardaway Jr. is averaging 10 points. The Knicks are averaging 98.6 points and they are shooting 44.8 percent including 37.1 percent from three-point land while defensively they are allowing 100.4 points and their opponents shoot 46.2 percent. The Knicks have lost three of their last four games.
Golden State is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games against a team with a losing road record, 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games, and 1-4 against the spread on one days rest. New York is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, 2-5 against the spread following a loss, and 4-10 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Golden State has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
While the Warriors are the far better team, the points are plenty and I will take the Knicks.
