The Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons will play for the fourth and final time on Saturday. The Pistons lead the series 2-1.
The Celtics head into this matchup on a seven-game losing streak. In fact, the Celtics have only won three games since the beginning of March. On the season, the Celtics average 95.4 points on 43.2 percent shooting and allow 99.9 points on 46.1 percent shooting. The Celtics have found ways to keep themselves in games when a decent defense, but they’re now allowing teams to shoot 50.5 percent from the field in their last five games. The Boston Celtics are 36-37-2 ATS overall and 20-17 ATS on the road.

The Pistons haven’t been any better, losing five of their last six games and winning only four games since the begging on March. On the season, the Pistons average 100.7 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allow 104.1 points on 46.8 percent shooting. The Pistons have allowed nine of their last 12 opponents to top 100 points, and are allowing 108.4 points in their last five games. Andre Drummond is about the Pistons only bright spot, as he shoots 61.9 percent on the season and has grabbed double-digit rebounds in eight of his last nine games. The Detroit Pistons are 32-42-1 ATS overall and 15-24 ATS at home.
The Celtics are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Central and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Pistons are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 vs. Eastern Conference. The home team is 5-1-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings, while the underdog is 5-2-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings.
I don’t trust either team against the spread in this matchup, which is why I’ll take the Celtics and the points. However, with the Final Four happening and other options out there, it’s best to just skip this game between two such lousy squads that you can’t trust.
