The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday night.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been in red-hot form as they’ve won seven of their past eight games and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after sneaking past the Jazz in a 135-133 overtime road win last night. LeBron James led the way with 37 points and six assists on 14 of 27 shooting, Austin Reaves added 28 points with six assists while Anthony Davis chipped in with 21 points, 14 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 49 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 14-point lead in regulation, before they made up for in overtime thanks to James who made the game-winning layup with just 27.0 seconds left on the clock.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in fair form as they’ve split their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting beaten by the Pelicans in a 122-114 road loss on Saturday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 40 points, eight rebounds and four assists on 15 of 28 shooting, Russell Westbrook tallied 24 points with nine assists while Ivica Zubac chipped in with 15 points on five of six shooting. As a team, the Clippers shot 49 percent from the field and 11 of 29 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 12-point lead and just couldn’t get back into the contest once the Pelicans kicked into gear in the second quarter.
