The Line: Miami Heat -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The New York Knicks take a trip to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat today.
The Knicks had won three straight but will be kicking themselves after losing to the Wizards by 90-89 on Friday. JR Smith exploded for 32 points which included eight three-pointers, but was let down by Carmelo Anthony who had just 10 points and committed a season-high nine turnovers. Of course you have to give credit to the Wizards' defense for Anthony's rough night, but some of the turnovers were simply passes into the first row which has pretty much been the story of the Knicks' season. With the loss, New York drops back to ninth in the Eastern standings, one game behind Atlanta with just five games left in the regular season.

Meanwhile, the Heat had won four straight games themselves but are coming off a 122-121 double overtime loss against the Timberwolves. As usual, LeBron James led the way with 34 points, while Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers added 24 points each, but despite shooting a healthy 80 percent from the free-throw line, the Heat just couldn't make the ones that really mattered and it cost them a chance to go two games clear of the second-placed Pacers in the standings. Miami now have only seven games left in the regular season, four of which are against teams above .500.
In ATS trends, the Knicks are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against a team above .600, while the Heat are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and 14-5 ATS in their last 19 Sunday games.
Head to head, the Knicks are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in Miami and the Under is 15-5-1 in the last 21 meetings overall.
I'll have to see the line before I give out my free pick, but I'm definitely leaning towards the Heat here.
The Knicks will be desperate to get this win to stay in the playoff hunt, but I actually prefer the Heat to win and cover at home in this one.
