Two heavyweights collide tonight as the Los Angeles Clippers host Kevin Durant the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Head to head, the Thunder are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Los Angeles. The Clippers are 4-0 in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 2 days rest and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Thunder on the other hand are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 0 days rest and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder - 4/9/14

While I would love to pick a side in this one, the over looks too tempting to pass up. Where do I start? Let’s take a look at their recent meetings shall we, which have all been pretty high scoring. The last time the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder met back in at the end of February, they managed to put up a whopping 242 total points and their last six meetings have averaged a total of 216, which is a couple of buckets better than tonight’s line of 213. As a result, the over has hit in five of those six contests and eight of their last 10 overall.

Individually, the Clippers have been hot on the offensive end of late and have been for pretty much the whole year as they have scored 107 points or greater in six straight matches, which has seen the over hit in five of those meetings. Defensively, they haven’t been all that great as they have conceded an average of 105.3 points over those six games. As far as the Thunder are concerned, they are putting up an average of 111 points over their last eight, which includes a 94-point against Sacramento a couple of weeks ago. On the defensive end, they allowed Houston and Phoenix to put up 111 and 122 in their last two outings, which were both on the road.

I could go on, but all the evidence you need is just above you. I actually think 213 is a little low for tonight’s game and I expected a line of around 218, given past meetings and recent results. Take the over folks...

Dan’s Pick: Over 213
