The Line: Dallas Mavericks -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs collide for an old fashioned Texas showdown tonight.
The Spurs could do no wrong in their franchise-best 19-game win streak, but they've certainly come back to earth lately with two losses in their last three games. On Tuesday, the Spurs headed into Minnesota looking to complete the season sweep of the Timberwolves but got absolutely ambushed and ended up getting trounced by 110-91. Having already trounced the Wolves twice this season, the Spurs started the game a little too casually and found themselves down by 20 heading into halftime and it wasn't until the middle of the fourth quarter that the Spurs started to play with some urgency. Tony Parker sat out the with a back injury and is slated to miss tonight's game, but coach Popovich expects his guard to play a couple games heading into the playoffs.

Meanwhile, it's been all smiles for the Mavericks who return home tonight after capping off a 4-0 road trip with an easy win over the Jazz. Defensively, the Mavs allowed the Jazz to score 52 points in the paint and grab 23 offensive boards, but made up for it on the offensive side as they made 17 of their first 18 shots and shot 55.6 percent from the field. Dirk Nowitzki continued his hot form with 21 points on nine of 11 shooting while five other players finished in double figures as Dallas improved to 48-31 overall with a lead of one game over the eighth-placed Phoenix.
In ATS trends, the Spurs are 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games overall, while the Mavs are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 0-6 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the Spurs are a dominant 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Dallas.
Looking at the stats and trends, this game looks like a definite win and cover for the Spurs but they've hit a couple speed bumps lately so it'll be interesting to see what the line will be. Please check back later for my free pick.
Normally I would never pick the Mavs over the Spurs, but this just looks like a great opportunity for Dirk and his team to grab a rare win over a stumbling Spurs team.
