The Line: Orlando Magic -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Washington Wizards invade the Amway Center tonight to battle the Orlando Magic.
The Wizards were just enjoying a nice stretch of four wins in five outings, but have suddenly found themselves staring down the barrel of a third straight loss after falling to the Bobcats by 94-88 on Wednesday. The Wizards started the game slow but were able to claw their way back from an early 20-point deficit to force overtime. Unfortunately, they went ice cold in the extra period, scoring just one point despite a triple-double from John Wall and 27 points from Marcin Gortat. The Wizards' defense played well to hold the Bobcats to 38 percent shooting from the field, but they made just one of 15 three-pointers compared to the Bobcats who sunk 11 of their 25. With the loss, Washington falls to 40-38 overall which drops them below Charlotte who now own the sixth seed in the Eastern standings.

Meanwhile, the lottery-bound Magic have lost 12 of their last 16 but are now looking at a third straight win after their 115-111 upset win over the Nets. Arron Afflalo led the way with 25 points while E'Twaun Moore and Tobias Harris added 17 and 16 points respectively as the Magic stormed out of the gates early before keeping the Nets at bay with clutch baskets in the final minutes. The Magic led by as many as 16 points early on and had to withstand the red-hot Nets who hit 23 of 37 shots in the second half, including seven three-pointers and four three-point plays. With the surprise win, Orlando improved to 23-55 overall this season and 3-18 in their last 21 games without Nikola Vucevic.
In ATS trends, the Wizards are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall and 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games, while the Magic are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 home games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the Wizards are 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings and 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings in Orlando.
The Wizards desperately need to win this game, so I'll be taking them if the line is reasonable so please check back later for my free pick.
You get the feeling that this game is going to be a close one but I think the Wizards should be able to pull away for the win and cover in the end.
