The San Antonio Spurs pay a visit to the Houston Rockets for a Monday night showdown.
Since getting thumped by the Timberwolves on Tuesday, the Spurs have been able to get back on track with back to back wins over the Mavericks and the Suns. On Friday, the Spurs found themselves behind by 62-49 at halftime against the Suns, but flipped the game on its head with a dominant 37-19 third quarter to run away with a 112-104 win at home. With Tim Duncan rested for the game, coach Popovich needed someone to step up and while Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard contributed 18 points each, it was really Danny Green who led the way with seven three pointers en route to 33 points. With the win, San Antonio clinched the Conference with two games left in the regular season so don't be surprised if a couple players get rested for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Rockets have lost five of their last nine games but will be breathing a little sigh of relief after coming from behind to beat the Pelicans by 111-104 on Saturday. James Harden poured in 33 points and 13 assists while Patrick Beverley and Jeremy Lin added 20 and 18 points respectively as the Rockets rallied in a 39-22 fourth quarter to stay one game ahead of the fifth-placed Trailblazers with just two games left to play. I wasn't particularly impressed with the Rockets because they were favored by 15 points and should have won by at least 20, but I really liked how good Dwight Howard and Patrick Beverley in their first games back from injury.
In ATS trends, the Spurs are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games and 21-7 ATS in their last 28 games overall, while the Rockets are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the Spurs are 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Underdog is 5-0 ATS in the last five overall.
I'm definitely looking at the Spurs to cover here, but I wouldn't be surprised if a couple players are rested at the last minute so please check back later for my free pick.
Be sure to check before tipoff if the Spurs rest any players and take them with confidence if all the stars are playing.
