The Atlanta Hawks and the Indiana Pacers face off on Thursday in game three of their Eastern Conference Playoffs as the series moves to Atlanta.
Two games into this series we have seen two very different results: game one with the Hawks winning against what just looked to be an uninspired Pacers team and then in game two we saw the Pacers fall behind and then rally to blow the Hawks out; of course the question here is which teams show up on Thursday.
USA TODAY Sports
The story of game two was Paul George who scored 27 points, grabbed 10 boards, and had six assists. Luis Scola scored 20 points and had seven rebounds while George Hill had 15 points. What I saw was a pacers offense that woke up and shot 52.9 percent from the floor and 47.1 percent from beyond the three-point arc.
For the Atlanta Hawks game two was tough sledding in the second half as they watched their three-point lead evaporate and turn into a 16-point loss that in reality could have even been worse. Paul Milsap had 19 points and Jeff Teague had 14 but the Pacers imposed their will on the Hawks as Atlanta shot just 39.2 percent from the floor for the game and that isn’t going to get it done.
This is one of those games where the Hawks will be sky high coming out as the crowd should be as good as it gets but this is where defense comes in and I look for this one to be a slower paced deliberate game that falls below the total.
My stronger play is on who will cover the point spread and I will post that pick in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
