The Portland Trail Blazers host the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 from the Moda Center on Saturday night.
Head to head, the Spurs are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings and 3-10 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Portland while the home team is 20-9 ATS in the last 29 meetings. The Trail Blazers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600, 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Spurs on the other hand are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Conference Semifinals games, but just 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall.

While this series has been a snooze fest so far, with the San Antonio Spurs winning Games 1 and 2 by a combined 41 points, the Trail Blazers still have a chance to make this a good series and that starts by winning Game 3, obviously. Portland has the right to feel confident on their home floor, having gone 33-11 there during the regular season and 2-1 so far in postseason action. While the Spurs won the last meeting in Portland 109-111, the Trail Blazers won the previous two showdowns by a combined 18 points.
As far as against the spread stats go, botht teams have been poor as the Blazers have only covered the spread in one of their last eight at the Moda Center and none of their last six overall. On the other hand, the Spurs are 0-4 against the spread in their last four away from home and 3-10 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Portland.
As is the case with most teams down 2-0 in a playoff series, this is a must win game for the Portland Trail Blazers. While there is no excusing their play in the first two games of this series, I expect a much better performance from them tonight in front of their rabid home crowd. Look for LA and Damien Lillard to fuel a close Blazers victory here..
