NBA Draft: June 26, 2014
USA TODAY Sports
2013-14 Season: 12.1 PPG-6.9 RPG-1.4 APG
Strengths: A great athlete with tremendous length with a wingspan of nearly 7-3. His size and quickness allows him to defend bigger and smaller opponents and presents match up problems for defenders. Has a variety of offensive moves around the basket and sometimes sems to 'squeeze' in to snare rebounds. Very young and has the potential to improve every aspect of his game.
Weakness: On the thin side and needs bulk to prevent 'bullying' by the bigger players in the NBA. Shooting range is very limited and needs to use his left hand. Played primarily zone at Syracuse so his man-man defense is a huge question mark. Wasn't a good shot blocker in college despite above average length. Not a good passer and struggles to create his own shot.
Projection: A team that is looking for a player that defines potential at both ends of the floor and doesn't have an issue with developing it will take a shot on Grant somewhere towards the end of the first round.
