We’ve still got one more day to wait for the gold-medal game in the 2014 World Cup. Team USA will be back in action in the ultimate matchup tomorrow, and in the meantime we’ve got to fill our hours with other NBA talk. That said, let’s take a look around the league and see what’s happening out there.

World Cup Latest: We’ve got our gold-medal game set for tomorrow’s World Cup final, and it should be a great matchup. Team USA will be taking on Serbia in the championship, as they took care of France yesterday 90-85 in what was ultimately a nail-biting affair.
Early on, it looked like Serbia would run away with it, but late in the third, France started making a run. They outscored Serbia 39-29 in the final quarter, thanks to a game-high 35 points from Nicolas Batum. Boris Diaw added 18 more with 10 rebounds and five assists.
For Serbia, Milos Teodosic posted a team-high 24 points (18 in the first half).
Today at 12:00 ET will be the bronze-medal game, featuring France and Lithuania.

Ferry Absence: Last night, word broke that Atlanta Hawks GM Danny Ferry would be taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team, effective immediately. While he’s gone, coach Mike Buldenholzer will be assuming the duties of overseeing the basketball operations department.
Ferry’s departure from the team comes after much controversy surrounding his scouting report on Luol Deng, back when Deng was a free agent.
