This past weekend was a pretty good one for NBA news, as there were plenty of headlines emerging from around the league over the past couple of days. With that in mind, let’s take our daily look at some of the notable players out there and see what everyone’s talking about right now.

Andray Blatche inked a deal with a Chinese team over the weekend, and it looks like former Hawk Gustavo Ayon will be following suit.
Ayon won’t be going to China, but he’ll be playing overseas this season following reports that he’d signed a deal with Real Madrid this weekend. This development is a bit strange, considering the fact that he garnered some genuine interest on the NBA free agent market this off-season.
Ayon seemed to be near a deal with the Spurs following the FIBA World Cup (where he played for Mexico), but that never materialized. He’s coming off an injury-shortened 2013-14 campaign, where he had issues with his shoulder.
He’ll be getting around $6.7 million for a three-year deal with Real Madrid, which helps explain why he agreed to move overseas. That’s way more than he would have gotten with the Spurs or any other NBA team.

Here’s an odd story from the weekend feed. Former NBAer Rex Chapman was arrested on shoplifting charges on Friday, after allegedly stealing $14,000 worth of goods from an Apple store and then selling that merchandise to a pawn shop in Arizona.
Chapman is facing nine counts of organized retail theft and five counts of trafficking in stolen property.
The 46-year-old was a first-round draft pick for Charlotte in 1988, and played in the NBA for 12 seasons with stops in Washington, Miami and Phoenix.
