The Line: See the Latest Odds
Here we will give a quick rundown of the 2014 Chicago Bulls win total that was set at 55.5 games.
In order for the Bulls to top this win total, it’d be the most wins they’ve had since 2010, which happened to be the same season Derrick Rose won the MVP. I know, it seems like a decade ago. The Bulls won 48 games last season without Rose and an offense that ranked 30th in points scored.

With everything the Bulls did during the offseason and the return of Rose, I think they top this win total and settle for a top two seed in the East.
The drafting of Doug McDermott is probably the biggest move the Bulls made, as he’s a lethal shooter and will help Chicago spread the floor and make the job easier for others. I think it’s only a matter of time before McDermott slides into the starting lineup and becomes one of the better offensive players in the NBA. Yes, McDermott is that good and his basketball IQ is off the charts.
The signing of Pau Gasol is simply unfair, as he’s shot no less than 46.6 percent in all of his 14 seasons and is an underrated passer who will set many of the Bulls players up with open shots they struggled to find in the past. Sure, Gasol doesn’t fit into the tough defensive style that Chicago likes to breed, but from an offensive position he’s the real deal and will help the Bulls improve their offensive numbers all across the board.
It’s going to take time for Rose to return to his MVP form even though he ironed out a few of the wrinkles in FIBA play. But just having Rose on the floor to run the team is an upgrade over Kirk Hinrich or D.J. Augustin. The Bulls need that floor general who can not only create his own shot but set others up to take control of the offense.
The Chicago Bulls were the best defensive team in the league last season and that should change with Tom Thibodeau at head coach and Joakim Noah at center.
I think the Bulls are the best team in the East from top to bottom and should push for 60 wins this season assuming everybody can stay healthy. Chicago is a scary basketball team that finally has some potential on the offensive end.
