The Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets play a preseason game Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center.
This will be the first preseason game of the year for the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team that is hoping to find more production from guys not named Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. The Thunder is one of those teams that you like to watch during the preseason due to the amount of youth and guys fighting for playing time. Perry Jones is somebody who could really help the Thunder at both ends of the floor and is entering his third season where players usually start to find themselves. I think there’s no question that Jeremy Lamb deserves more playing time and could be that scoring spark off the bench. Rookie Mitch McGary has mentioned that he’s fully recovered from a back injury and will provide some much needed depth at center. The OKC Thunder have their main guys in place and are now hoping some of their younger talent can begin to blossom.

This will be the Denver Nuggets second preseason game as they recently lost to the Los Angeles Lakers, 98-95. In the loss, the Nuggets shot just 38.7 percent from the field, 50 percent from downtown and turned the ball over 16 times. Ty Lawson led the way with 15 points in 25 minutes and rookie Gary Harris scored 11 points off the bench. The Nuggets are giving many of their younger guys a chance to prove themselves due to a baned up roster that doesn’t have a healthy JaVale McGee, Nate Robinson or J.J. Hickson. Look for Kenneth Faried to be a little more aggressive in this game after going 0-4 from the field in the loss to the Lakers. Wilson Chandler should also have a better game after scoring just five points in 19 minutes.
The Denver Nuggets have a preseason game under their belt and that gives them an advantage here. I also like Denver at home where they usually play well. The wrong team is favored here.
