The Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets play a Friday night preseason game at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
The Washington Wizards have won their first two preseason games and this will be their third straight on the road. The Wizards have shot under 27 percent from deep in both games and have a combined 39 turnovers in their first two games. Otto Porter Jr. is somebody who has to get going, as he shot just 1-10 from the field in the last game. Meanwhile, Glen Rice Jr. is coming off an 18-point performance, as he led the way in the Wizards victory over the Chicago Bulls. Kris Humphries continues to get worked into the lineup as he recovers from a hand injury, and he played 10 minutes in Washington’s last game. Expect the Washington Wizards to focus on cleaning their game up as the sloppy turnovers need to stop by the time the season begins.
USA TODAY Sports
This will be the Charlotte Hornets second preseason game, as they lost the Philadelphia 76ers 106-92 on Wednesday. In the loss, the Hornets shot just 36.8 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from deep. Gary Neal led Charlotte with 14 points off the bench, while the new backcourt tandem of Kemba Walker and Lance Stephenson combined for 26 points. With the starters in place, the Hornets need to see some of their backups pick it up, and Bismack Biyombo was one of those guys in the first game as he grabbed six rebounds in 21 minutes of action. Rookie Noah Vonleh continues to recover from a hernia injury and may be ready to return to the team in a couple of weeks barring any setbacks.
