The Line: See the Latest Odds
The Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers play a Sunday night preseason game at the Moda Center.
The Los Angeles Clippers lost their only preseason game of the year to the Golden State Warriors, a game in which they allowed the Warriors to shoot 48.6 percent from the field. Offensively, the Clippers shot just 26.1 percent from three and turned the ball over 23 times. However, Blake Griffin was an absolute monster with 24 points and 12 rebounds, as he looked to be in regular season mode and was hitting everything. Jamal Crawford chipped in 14 points off the bench and Spencer Hawes grabbed eight rebounds in his season debut as a Clipper. Every Los Angeles player picked up minutes except for Hedo Turkoglu. Expect the Los Angeles Clippers to work on their defense here, as everybody already knows they can put the ball in the hoop at will.
USA TODAY Sports
The Portland Trail Blazers lost their first two preseason games to the Utah Jazz. The Trail Blazers have struggled to shoot the ball, especially from deep where they’re 8-39 in the first two games. The Trail Blazers have also racked up 39 turnovers and have had a hard time finding any depth in either game. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 22 points in 24 minutes in his last contest and Steve Blake has racked up nine assists in 46 minutes of action. The one Portland player who has really shined so far has been Chris Kaman, who has 13 rebounds and 18 points off the bench. However, the Trial Blazers are still looking for others to make an impact, as it’s really been the usual guys who have been stepping up. Damian Lillard is doubtful for this game with a foot injury.
