Dallas Mavericks vs. Indiana Pacers

The Line: See the Latest Odds
The Indiana Pacers and Dallas Mavericks play a Sunday night preseason game at the American Airlines Center.
This will be the first road game for a 1-1 Indiana Pacers team that’s looking for answers with no Paul George on the court. The Pacers are coming off a game where they shot just 38.3 percent from the field, as offense will be an issue for Indiana this season more than it was in the past. One player for the Pacers who has made some noise so far is Donald Sloan, who has 23 points in the first two games and is 4-12 from three. Another positive sign for the Pacers is the fact Roy Hibbert is starting to look like his old self, as he’s grabbed nine rebounds in the first two performances and shot 50 percent in his last contest. With a bunch of question marks, the Indiana Pacers are just looking for answers until George is able to return.

The Dallas Mavericks have lost both of their preseason games and will play their third straight home game. Scoring has not been an issue for the Mavs, as they’ve topped 100 points in both games and have made a combined 20 threes. The issue is a lack of defense, as the Mavericks have allowed both opponents to shoot above 45 percent from the field. Dirk Nowitzki has taken it easy during the preseason with a minor injury, but he’s expected to give it a go in this matchup. Newly acquired Chandler Parsons is 3-10 from three in the first two games and Al-Farouq Aminu has played extremely well and is shooting a high percentage from the field, as he scored 14 points in his most recent contest. The Dallas Mavericks have to be more consistent defensively before the season begins.
Although the Mavs play no defense, they should be able to outscore a Pacers team that's looking for scoring options.
