The Line: See the Latest Odds
The Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks will play a Monday night preseason game at the American Airlines Center.
The Memphis Grizzlies are 2-3 in preseason play and have won two of their last three games. Don’t look now but the Grizzlies have shot above 50 percent in their last two games and are coming off a performance where four of their five starters scored in the double figures. Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol look to be in regular season mode as they’re both crashing the boards and doing a nice job of finding their offense. Tony Allen grabbed six rebounds and shot 50 percent from the field in a rare preseason outing. One player the Grizzlies have to be pleased with is Quincy Pondexter, who has a combined 29 points in his last two games. The Memphis Grizzlies are a playoff caliber team in the West but must continue to find consistent offense.

The Dallas Mavericks are 2-3 in the preseason and are coming off a loss to the Indiana Pacers. Considering the Mavericks are a veteran team, you’re never quite sure which players are going to take the court. Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis, Tyson Chandler, Chandler Parsons, Jameer Nelson and Devin Harris all missed the last preseason game, and Nowitzki has missed much of the preseason overall. As for the guys who are actually playing, Richard Jefferson has looked sharp with a combined 33 points in his last three games. Gal Mekel played 43 minutes in the last game, as he shot 50 percent from the field and dished out nine assists. Despite some minor injury issues, the Dallas Mavericks appear to be in good shape heading into the regular season.
Dallas should play much of their starting roster due to resting them the last game. Considering the Mavs can actually put the ball in the hoop, give me the home team and the chalk.
