The Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers will play a preseason game Wednesday at the Citizens Business Bank Arena.
With a win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, the Portland Trail Blazers improve to 3-2 in the preseason and have won three straight. LaMarcus Aldridge is coming off his best game of the preseason with 20 points and 11 rebounds in 37 minutes. Damian Lillard also looks ready for the regular season after producing 29 points and eight assists in his last two games. Wesley Matthews has caught absolute fire from downtown recently, going 13-19 from three-point range in his last three contests. From a starters point of view, the Portland Trail Blazers look to be sharp and ready for the games that actually count. It’ll be interesting to see just how much the Trail Blazers can build on last season’s success.

The loss to the Utah Jazz in overtime on Tuesday drops the Los Angeles Lakers to 2-4 in preseason action. In Tuesday’s game, the Lakers played a very small roster and gave Kobe Bryant 34 minutes. In the loss, Kobe was a solid 10-20 from the field for 27 points and four rebounds. It was Kobe’s best game of the preseason and shows that he’s ready to carry the Lakers on his back. Carlos Boozer is a combined 19-36 from the field in his last three games. Jeremy Lin scored 15 points and dropped five assists in Tuesday’s game despite dealing with a banged up ankle. Jordan Hill also has a combined 33 points in his last three games. Overall, the Los Angeles Lakers have had some bright spots throughout the preseason but need to see a little more to have any confidence heading into the real thing.
It's really hard to turn down the Lakers and all of these free points at home. Besides, the Lakers have to get back on track at some point..
