The Indiana Pacers get set to host the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Philadelphia 76ers are likely to struggle again this season, and things don’t start off easy for the Sixers, as PHilly has to head to Indiana on Wednesday to face off against the Pacers.

The Indiana Pacers aren’t what they were a season ago at this time, and with the likely emergence of the Cavs and the Bulls, the Pacers are going to be in a season long battle in the Central. The Pacers season actually started back in early August when Paul George destroyed his leg in an exhibition. Indiana will now have to rely on HIbbert to put points up on the board, and it will be fun to see how effective that will be. Defensively this team has the mindset to still be solid, but the Pacers are going to take a big step back this season, and as of right now the Pacers are playing for next year.
The Philadelphia 76ers were horrible last season, and the Sixers will be horrible again. Philly has almost no veteran leadership on this team, and while in the past we have seen young rosters play really well, that just won’t happen with this squad. The Sixers are in a brutal division, and realistically the Sixers are looking at 17-20 wins on the season. Williams could be solid at the point for the Sixers, but all across the board the Sixers are young, and for the most part undersized. Like other young teams however, be careful fading this group early on as they will be motivated, inspired and fresh, and that makes them hard to bet against. That being said, the talent isn’t there either, so betting on them...also risky.
I’m going with the under in this spot. The Pacers are the better team here, but their offense is taking a step down from last season, where they were far from great. The Sixers are outmatched, but they are incredibly young, and you know will be playing their best here, trying to start their season off right. Especially when everyone in the world (this guy included) is writing them off. Look for a hard fought game here, which should keep scoring down.
