The Memphis Grizzlies welcome the Sacramento Kings to town tonight for a Thursday night showdown.
The Sacramento Kings have been one of the early surprise packages of the young season, but they are coming into tonight off a couple of consecutive losses after winning five straight. On Tuesday against the Mavericks, the Kings absolutely flew out of the gates and found themselves up by as many as 24 points in the second quarter before it all fell apart. The Kings just started committing turnover after turnover and once Dirk Nowitzki and Chandler Parsons got hot, the Kings' big lead was gone in a flash. Rudy Gay led the scoring with 26 points while Ben McLemore and Ramon Sessions added 17 and 18 points respectively, but DeMarcus Cousins really struggled against the defense of Tyson Chandler and had just 16 points while battling foul trouble. On a side note, Darren Collison sat out the game because of stiffness in his shoulder but is listed as a starter for tonight's game.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have won seven of their first eight games and bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 107-102 win over the lowly Lakers. Mike Conley led the way with 23 points and the Grizzlies got a combined 38 points from their bench as they improved to 7-1 on the season and a perfect 18-0 in their last 18 regular season games at home dating to last season. As a team, the Grizzlies are averaging just 94.8 points per game which ranks them at 24th in the league, but they are top in the league in points allowed at just 89.4 points per game.
In ATS trends, the Kings are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 games following a loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall, while the Grizzlies are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss.
Head to head, the Kings are 6-13-1 ATS in the last 20 meetings in Memphis and the Road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five overall.
In the past, this would be an automatic bet on the Grizzlies to win and cover at home, but I actually think this one could go either way. I still like the Grizzlies to stay undefeated at home for a little while longer, but I like the Kings with the points in this one.
