The Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards play Wednesday night at the Verizon Center.
The Dallas Mavericks have won four straight games and could finally have figured things out defensively. Despite allowing 98.2 points on 45.1 percent shooting during the season, the Mavs have improved those numbers to 94 points on 44 percent shooting in their last five games. The Mavs have won all four games this season when allowing less than 100 points. Offensively, the Mavericks are averaging 109.3 points on 49.2 percent shooting. Dirk Nowitzki leads Dallas with 19.6 points and 5.4 rebounds, while Monta Ellis averages 18.4 points and 4.2 assists. Chandler Parsons is shooting 34.5 percent from downtown and Tyson Chandler has double-digit rebounds in five of his last six games. Devin Harris is questionable for this game with a leg injury.

The Washington Wizards have won three straight and are undefeated on their home court. The Wizards are averaging 98.7 points on 46.4 percent shooting and are allowing 96.4 points on 44.2 percent shooting. John Wall is averaging 19.4 points and 9.1 assists, while Marcin Gortat is averaging 13.3 points and 9.1 rebounds. Paul Pierce is 1-13 from downtown in his last three games and Nene Hilario is 12-23 from the field in his last two games. While we know the Washington Wizards can score, they’ve been working hard on their defense and it’s paid off as they’ve won nine straight games when holding a team under 100 points. The Wizards haven't lost a regular season home game since April 9th.
The Mavericks are 54-21 ATS in their last 75 road games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Wizards are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
These are two of the better teams in the NBA and while it's a complete toss-up, I'm going with Washington the points simply because its the home team. This is probably the best game on the card and it's a chance to for the Wizards to prove they can hang with the big boys. I know they can.
