The Memphis Grizzlies invade the STAPLES Center to battle the Los Angeles Lakers tonight.
The Memphis Grizzlies are an impressive 12-2 after 14 games and have shown no signs of slowing down after tearing apart the Clippers by 107-91 in a rout on Sunday. The Grizzlies went to Marc Gasol early and often and he delivered with 30 points on 13 of 18 shooting and he received plenty of support as five other players finished in double digits in scoring. Defensively, the Grizzlies held the Clippers to just 41.6 percent shooting including Blake Griffin to just 12 points on five of 17 shooting. With the win, Memphis remained a perfect 8-0 at home where they've won their last three by an average of 19.6 points.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a disappointing 101-94 overtime loss against the in-form Nuggets. Jeremy Lin had a nice game of 17 points and five assists while Jordan Hill added 11 points and 14 rebounds, but with the score tied and just 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the stage was set for Kobe Bryant to hit the game winner but he missed, sending the game to overtime where the Lakers were outscored 15-8. With the loss, LA dropped to 3-11 overall and 1-6 at home.
In ATS trends, the Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points, while the Lakers are 6-14-2 ATS in their last 22 games against a team with a winning record and 2-8-2 ATS in their last 12 home games.
Head to head, the Grizzlies are 0-3-3 ATS in the last six meetings overall and 1-0-3 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Los Angeles.
The public seems to be favoring the Lakers with the points in this one, but I actually think the smart money is still on the Grizzlies. Yes, the last time these two teams met, it was just a five-point win at home for Memphis, but the Lakers still have a long way to go before I start picking them.
