The Boston Celtics will be hosting the San Antonio Spurs this afternoon at the Garden.
The Boston Celtics have one of the better offenses in the league this season, as Boston is always putting up points in bunches. The issue is, the Celtics can’t stop anyone else from doing the same. Boston is sitting at 4-9 on the season right now, and giving up more than 107 points per game on average. Boston has dropped six out of their last seven heading into this one, with their last win coming back on the 19th against the Sixers. In Boston’s last outing, the Celtics fell to the Bulls at the Garden, 109-102 on Friday.

The San Antonio Spurs are surprising the basketball world by being good again. Ok, maybe not as the Spurs always seem to be atop the standings. San Antonio is sitting at 11-4 right now, and honestly could probably be better if they didn’t rest players at a greater rate than most teams. The Spurs have the top ranked defense in the league right now, allowing just over 92 points per game on average. The Spurs head to the Garden on Sunday afternoon, having won six straight, with their latest win coming on Friday against the Kings at home.
I’m going to take the points here with the Celtics. San Antonio is clearly the better team, and if this were a more meaningful game, I could see them easily beating up the Celtics by double digits. I just don’t see that being the case here. I look for San Antonio to get a solid lead in the fourth quarter and just kind of coast through the remainder, leaving a wide open back door for Boston, who can score on anyone, even against this defense.
