The Minnesota Timberwolves head to STAPLES Center to battle the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.
The injury-plagued Minnesota Timberwolves were looking to build on their thrilling win over the Lakers on Friday with another win last night, but they ran out of luck when they met with the Trailblazers team fresh off a rare loss. Shabazz Muhammad led the team with a game-high 28 points on 12 of 17 shooting off the bench, while Mo Williams added 21 points and 11 assists, but there just wasn't enough support against a Blazers team that have been so good at home this season. Thaddeus Young played 43 minutes but scored just 14 points, while Zach LaVine played just 11 minutes after pouring in 28 points on Friday. With the loss, Minnesota falls to 4-11 on the season and 2-6 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers were definitely rusty to start the season, but are now returning from a successful seven-game road trip where they went 6-1 capped by a 112-96 rout of the Jazz on Saturday. Blake Griffin continued his rich vein of form with 28 points on 13 of 18 shooting while Chris Paul steered the ship with 17 points and 10 assists. Being the last game of a long road trip, the Clippers were always in danger of slipping up and having an off-day, but they started the game with intent and were able to cruise to the win after leading by 35-18 are just one quarter. With the win, LA improves to 11-5 on the season and 7-2 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Timberwolves are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall, while the Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall but just 1-10 ATS in their last 11 home games.
The Clippers recent record ATS at home has me a little worried about this game, but I always stick with my gut feeling and it's telling me the Wolves don't have what it takes to hang with the red-hot Clippers the way they are. I'm sticking with the home team in what should be a high-scoring blowout.
