The San Antonio Spurs go for a ninth straight win tonight when they visit the Brooklyn Nets.
The San Antonio Spurs have won 13 of 17 games to start the season and their last eight straight, but will be feeling a little sheepish after escaping Philadelphia with a narrow 109-103 win against the winless Sixers on Monday. With Tim Duncan and Tony Parker rested for the game, Kawhi Leonard led the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds while Aron Baynes and Cory Joseph scored 15 and 14 points respectively, but the Spurs lacked that killer instinct on Monday as they had to fight right till the end against a team that had already beaten by 25 points just two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have really been in a slump lately with seven losses in their last 10 outings, but will be feeling upbeat about beating the Knicks 98-93 last night. Brook Lopez led the way with 23 points, Joe Johnson added 22 and Deron Williams had 19 as the Nets dominated early on before holding off a late rally from the Knicks. Despite the win, Brooklyn is still only 7-9 on the season, 4-5 on the road and still without a win against a team with a winning record.
In ATS trends, the Spurs are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games against a team with a losing record, while the Nets are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games following a win and 0-4 ATS in their last four home games.
Head to head, the Spurs are 12-2 ATS in the last 14 meetings in Brooklyn and 19-6-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings overall.
I can't go past the Spurs in this one, especially with Duncan and Parker rested against a Nets team playing on the second night of a back to back and still without a win against a decent team this season.
