The Miami Heat take a trip to the Pepsi Center to battle the Denver Nuggets tonight.
The Miami Heat will be breathing a little sigh of relief after snapping a four-game skid with a 103-97 win over the Suns last night. Chris Bosh had a monster game of 34 points on 14 of 21 shooting while Luol Deng added 23 points on nine of 12 shooting as the Heat overcame the hot-shooting Suns who made 17 of 35 three pointers, including a combined 10 of 13 from Suns' reserves Marcus Morris and Gerald Green. During the losing streak, the Heat were allowing an average of 107.7 points per game, so it was really encouraging to see them hold the high-scoring Suns under 100 points. Despite the win, Miami are still only 10-11 on the season.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets were on a bit of a hot streak of eight wins in 10 games, but have since lost four straight after falling to the Raptors by 112-107 in overtime on Monday. Arron Afflalo led six players in double figures with 25 points while Ty Lawson added 22 points and 12 assists, but the Nuggets still shot just 41.3 percent from the field and lost the battle of the benches by 49-17. There was one particular play that epitomized the type of night the Nuggets were having and it was when they committed a somewhat unforced shot clock violation with the game tied with just 0:28 left in the fourth quarter.
In ATS trends, the Heat are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record, while the Nuggets are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the Heat are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 meetings overall and 1-7 ATS in their last eight meetings in Denver.
The Heat looked good in their last outing, but the Nuggets will be eager to snap out of their funk and I think they can do that tonight. This is by no means a hot tip, but I'm definitely preferring the Nuggets at home to and cover tonight.
