The Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings square off Saturday night at the Sleep Train Arena.
The Detroit Pistons snapped a 13-game losing streak Friday against the Phoenix Suns. On the season, the Pistons are averaging 92.8 points on 40.4 percent shooting and are allowing 99.5 points on 45.4 percent shooting. Greg Monroe leads Detroit with 14.7 points and 9.3 rebounds while Brandon Jennings is averaging 13.5 points and 6.2 assists. Josh Smith is shooting 38.1 percent from the field and Andre Drummond is grabbing 11.8 rebounds per game. The Detroit Pistons have been one of the worst offensive teams all season but are coming off a performance where they shot 47.6 percent from the field and had four of their five starters score in the double digits. Maybe the win will be the spark this team needed or maybe it was just a fluke.
USA TODAY Sports
The Sacramento Kings have lost three of their last five and continue to miss DeMarcus Cousins. On the season, the Kings are averaging 101.4 points on 45.8 percent shooting and are allowing 101.6 points on 43.9 percent shooting. Rudy Gay is averaging 21.2 points and 4.5 assists while Darren Collison is averaging 16.7 points and 6.3 assists. Ben McLemore is shooting 47.6 percent from the field and Omri Casspi is grabbing 3.4 rebounds. Despite missing their top player, the Sacramento Kings are playing solid defense recently, holding teams to 41.4 percent shooting from the field and 27.5 percent from three in their last five games. With the offensive talent on this team, the Kings will be alright if they can continue to get stops defensively.
The Pistons are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games playing on 0 days rest and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games. The Kings are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Pistons are 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Sacramento and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings overall.
I don't love the spread in this game at all, which is why I'm going with the over. The Kings have shown they can score the ball at will and the Pistons are coming off a game where they finally had some offensive success. Besides, the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams.
