The Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers play Monday night at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Los Angeles Lakers have won five of their last eight games and end a three-game road trip. On the season, the Lakers are averaging 102.7 points on 44.1 percent shooting and are allowing 110.1 points on 48 percent shooting. Kobe Bryant leads the way with 25.4 points and five assists while Nick Young is averaging 15.7 points on 40.7 percent shooting. Jordan Hill is grabbing nine rebounds per game and Jeremy Lin is averaging five assists. The Los Angeles Lakers are playing with more confidence with each game that passes by and they’ve improved defensively, holding three of their last seven opponents under 100 points. The Lakers are slowly becoming a team to watch, and five of their eight wins this season have come on the road.
USA TODAY Sports
The Indiana Pacers have lost eight straight games and are desperate for offense. On the season, the Pacers are averaging 93.2 points on 42.2 percent shooting and are allowing 97.4 points on 45.5 percent shooting. Rodney Stuckey leads Indiana with 12.8 points and 3.4 rebounds while David West is averaging 11.7 points and 5.8 rebounds. Roy Hibbert is grabbing 7.3 rebounds per game and Solomon Hill is shooting 39.9 percent from the field. The Indiana Pacers are shooting just 40 percent from the field in their last five games and have lost nine of their last 12 games when scoring under 100 points. It’s no wonder there are rumors of the Pacers trying to get Lance Stephenson back, as this team is brutal on the offensive side of the ball. C.J. Miles is questionable with a knee injury.
The Lakers are 4-13 ATS in their last 17 Monday games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Pacers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Lakers are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the road team is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings.
The Los Angeles Lakers are on a roll and have the both sides of the ball clicking in a way it hasn't all season long. The Pacers are just lost offensively and that doesn't bode well against an LA team that can fill up the stat sheet offensively. Give me LA and the free points.
