The Los Angeles Clippers invade the Pepsi Center to battle the Denver Nuggets tonight.
The Denver Nuggets have lost seven of their last eight overall and will be looking to avoid a fourth straight loss after falling to the Rockets by 115-111 in overtime on Wednesday. Wilson Chandler scored a team-high 23 points while Arron Afflalo added 22, but the best Nuggets player for me was Ty Lawson who had 12 points and 16 assists. However, when the game went into overtime, the Nuggets just couldn't find a way to stop James Harden who scored 10 of his 41 points in the last 2:15 of overtime. With the loss, Denver falls to 10-15 overall and 6-6 at home.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers were able to bounce back from a couple of back to back losses with a couple wins on the trot after sneaking past the Pacers by 102-100 on Wednesday. Blake Griffin filled the box score with 31 points, 16 rebounds and five assists, Chris Paul added 20 points and nine assists while DeAndre Jordan had 15 points and 23 rebounds as the Clippers battled the shorthanded Pacers in a game that was closer than expected. We've gotten accustomed to seeing the Clippers blow away teams like they did in their nine-game win streak, but this close win will definitely benefit them more come the business end of the season.
In ATS trends, the Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS loss, while the Nuggets are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the Clippers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Denver and the Home team is 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
Just about every stat and trend is suggesting that the Nuggets should win or at least cover the spread against the Clippers tonight, but I can't ignore how well the Clippers have been lately compared to how inconsistent the Nuggets have been. Sure, these teams split last season's four-game series but the Clippers are really playing at a much higher level and I can't resist this small line.
