The Memphis Grizzlies invade Staples Center tonight to take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Memphis Grizzlies bounced back from an ugly four-game losing streak with a couple of nice wins on the trot by beating the Heat on Saturday, but now they have to be feeling pretty good after beating the Spurs for the second time in two weeks. Marc Gasol had 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists while Mike Conley led the way with 30 points on 10 of 13 shooting as the Grizzlies took down the Spurs by 95-87. It really was a two-man show as no one other than Tayshaun Prince scored more than eight points, but it was the Grizzlies' ability to keep Tim Duncan to just nine points and Manu Ginobili to just six points which really helped them hold onto their 14-point lead they built heading into halftime. With the win, Memphis improved to 23-8 overall and 13-4 at home.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have lost six of their last eight overall but were able to put a halt to a three-game skid with a 111-103 win over the Nuggets on Tuesday. Carlos Boozer had a nice game of 19 points while Ronnie Price added 18, but this game was all about Kobe Bryant who compiled a triple-double of 23 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists while taking just 11 shots. The Nuggets have been struggling for a while now so this win doesn't count for too much, but it was just great to see Kobe trusting his teammates and getting rewarded.
In ATS trends, the Grizzlies are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 road games against a team with a home record less than .400 and 3-7 ATS in their alst 10 games against a losing team, while the Lakers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight against the Western Conference and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team above .600.
Head to head, the Grizzlies are 0-4-3 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 0-1-3 ATS in the last four meetings in Los Angeles.
The Lakers really could be a fun team to watch if they continue to play like they did in their last outing, but I still have a hard time backing them against this Grizzlies team who have already beaten them twice this season.
