The Phoenix Suns look to take advantage of hosting the lowly Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers are just 4-26 on the year but all four of those wins have come on the road for the struggling young team. Two of Philly’s wins have come on this current seven game road trip, but both were against Eastern conference teams. In the three losses against the West, the Sixers have been demolished by the Blazers, Jazz and Warriors, most recently falling by 40 points to the Warriors. The 76ers should face a similar challenge here against a potent offense as the team’s defense ranks 24th allowing 103.4 points and the offense is dead last averaging just 90.6 points per game. The Sixers will hope to see a strong performance out of Michael Carter-Williams who can either fuel the offense or really hurt the team with turnovers or poor shooting.

The Phoenix Suns are two games above .500 at 18-16 on the year but the home court edge hasn’t been pronounced at 7-7. The Suns will be confident to improve upon both marks hosting an anemic offense like the Sixers possess; the Suns average 104.6 points per game to rank 4th in the league. The Suns defense leaves plenty to be desired ranking 28th while allowing 104.9 points per game, but it’s hard to imagine a team like the Sixers can really test that weakness. With the Suns having five players averaging double digit scoring and a bench that scores 35.5 points per game, expect the Suns to push the pace here and test the Sixers questionable depth. The Suns have lost two in a row with the recent loss coming in OT against the Thunder, so the hosts should be especially geared up for a bounce back outing.
The Sixers have been crushed in each of their last three games which were all road games against Western conference teams so I will back that trend to continue here. Look for the Suns to name their number as they give the fans plenty to cheer about.
