NBA Player Updates 1/18: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
January 18, 2015
The NBA is slowing things down a bit this evening, with just three games on the schedule. Not to worry, however; we’ll be back with 12 games tomorrow. In the meantime, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there across the league.
Hornets-Pacers: A 12-3 overtime period score was the difference in this one. The Hornets took an 80-71 victory against the Pacers in Charlotte yesterday, with Gerald Henderson leading the way on 20 points.
Lance Stephenson added 13 points off the bench against his former team.
Interestingly enough, the 151 points scored here were the fewest in an OT game during the shot-clock era.

Pistons-Sixers: The way the Pistons are playing right now, they might end up being a force in the East when playoff time rolls around. Granted, their latest win was a 107-89 affair over the Sixers in Michigan last night, but it brings Detroit to 16-25, which is a long way from 5-23 where they started this run.
Detroit has now gone 6-2 in the past 12 days, despite limited practice time.
Kyle Singler was the big performer here with 20 points on 6-of-8 from 3-point land.
Hawks-Bulls: Speaking of teams that are surging right now, the Hawks fall into that category. They posted their 12th straight win last night against the Bulls in Chicago, taking it 107-99.
Kyle Korver drained seven 3-pointers here (a season-high) on the way to 24 points overall. Al Horford posted 22 points and nine boards.
Atlanta is now 33-8 and has won 26 of 28.
Warriors-Rockets: Out West, the Warriors continued their impressive run to start the season, posting a 131-106 blowout over Houston. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson each posted 27 points here, and Thompson was able to stay effective against James Harden defensively, limiting him to 11 points.
The third quarter was the difference here. The Warriors posted 38 points in that period alone, with 15 of those coming from Curry.
NBA Daily Schedule: Here’s a look at the upcoming games in the 2014-15 NBA season, including the start times and TV networks where you can catch each matchup.
