The NBA will be backing things off quite a bit today after a heavy day of action yesterday. We’ve got just two games to look forward to in the coming hours, but tomorrow we’ll be back with most of the league being out on the court. In the meantime, let’s check out some of the notable headlines out there right now.
Hornets-Timberwolves: The Hornets got a big lift yesterday against the Timberwolves, as big man Al Jefferson was able to return from a groin injury. He came off the bench to score eight points and post five rebounds in the 105-80 win at home.
Gerald Henderson put up 17 points and Brian Roberts had 16 points. Now the Hornets have won seven of their last eight.
Meanwhile, the T-Wolves fall to 7-33.

Wizards-Sixers: Washington asserted their dominance early in this one, limiting Philly to just 14 points in the first quarter. The end result was a 111-76 win in DC.
The Wizards had seven players score in double-digits. Marcin Gortat led the way with 20 while John Wall put up a double-double on 11 points and 10 assists.
Henry Sims led the Sixers on 13 points.
Clippers-Celtics: The Clippers have now won eight times in their last 11 games, but they nearly blew it yesterday against the Celtics.
L.A. blew the majority of a 23-point margin but pushed through to a 102-93 win in the end. Blake Griffin put up 22 points while DeAndre Jordan added a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
The Clippers are now 4-1 against Boston in their last five games.
Warriors-Nuggets: The Warriors continued their charmed season yesterday with a blowout win over the Nuggets. All 13 players on the active roster scored in the team’s 16th straight home win, which matches a franchise record. The final score was 122-79.
