The Line: Charlotte Hornets -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Miami Heat travel to the Time Warner Cable Arena to battle the Charlotte Hornets tonight.
The Miami Heat have won three of their last five games overall but were far below their best in a 94-86 loss to the Thunder last night. Dwyane Wade had a nice game of 18 points while Chris Bosh added 16, but while the Heat were on top of the Thunder early on, it all went downhill once Hassan Whiteside sprained his ankle in the first and never returned. From then on, the Heat were just woeful on the boards, allowing the Thunder to grab 12 offensive boards which led to second chance points and easy buckets. X-rays for Whiteside's ankle injury were negative but he is not expected to even fly with the team to Charlotte for tonight's game.

Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have continued their hot streak of seven wins in eight games with a 105-80 blowout win over the Timberwolves on Monday. Gerald Henderson led the way with 17 points while Brian Roberts added 16, but no one played anything close to their usual minutes because the Hornets were already up by 50-33 at halftime, so the second half was basically a professional pick-up game between the reserves. Once again, Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson were both missing from the lineup and it is uncertain if either will show up for tonights game.
In ATS trends, the Heat are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four road games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games overall, while the Hornets are 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the Heat are 11-4-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings overall and 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Charlotte.
Deng and Whiteside are both expected to miss this game, so I'm expecting an easy win for the Hornets unless Wade can turn back the clock tonight.
