NBA Player Updates 2/2: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
February 2, 2015
After a pretty light day yesterday, the NBA is back with eight games on the upcoming set. While we’re waiting on tonight’s tip-offs, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there in the headlines this morning. Here’s a look at our daily wrap-up.
Heat-Celtics: Hassan Whiteside stepped up big late in the game against the Celtics yesterday, posting 20 points overall. The end result was an 83-73 victory that stopped a two-game losing streak for the Heat. He also put up three blocks and nine rebounds.
Helping out were Chris Bosh with 18 points and Tyler Johnson with 13. Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng were both sitting out for this one due to injuries.

Knicks-Lakers: It’s front-page news when the Knicks win a game these days, and that’s exactly what happened yesterday against the Lakers at the Garden. New York started out on a feverish run, posting 32 points in the opening quarter. They would end up topping L.A. 92-80.
Carmelo Anthony led the way here with 31 points--18 of those coming in the third quarter alone.
This game was originally scheduled to be a nationally televised affair, but with both teams in the gutter record-wise (and Kobe Bryant gone due to injury), the proverbial plug was pulled.
Milwaukee’s Ersan Iluasova and Zaza Pachulia will both be out for today’s game against the Raptors. Iluasova has a groin issue and Pachulia a calf injury.
Both players missed out on Saturday’s game as well.
Back to the Lakers for a moment: forward Jordan Hill had to come out of the loss yesterday due to what he calls a hip flexor injury. He played just seven minutes.
Hill is unsure of how long he’ll be sidelined, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for any updates from L.A.
NBA Daily Schedule: Here’s a look at the upcoming games in the 2014-15 NBA season, including the start times and TV networks where you can catch each matchup.
