The Miami Heat travel to Minneapolis to battle the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.
The Miami Heat have been inconsistent all season but they're definitely in a bit of a slump at the moment because they've now lost three of their four after getting routed by the Pistons by 108-91 last night. Chris Bosh had a big night of 34 points on 14 of 23 shooting while Hassan Whiteside added 11 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks, but the Heat simply got dominated in the first quarter by 33-12 and they just couldn't recover. Lately, the Heat just haven't been able to pull together and put on a real team performance and that certainly continued tonight as no one else had much of a night other than Whiteside and Bosh. With the loss, Miami dropped to 21-27 on the season and 13-12 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have lost eight of their last nine games and will be looking to avoid a fourth straight loss after falling to the Mavericks by 100-94 on Monday. Kevin Martin led five players in double figures with 19 points while Mo Williams and Thaddeus Young added 15 points each, but in a close game, the Wolves just didn't have that reliable go-to player like the Mavs do and it cost them. On the bright side, Ricky Rubio made his return to the court and scored 10 points but played just 21 minutes as he looks to ease back into the season.
In ATS trends, the Heat are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team below .400, while the Wolves are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games against the Eastern Conference.
Head to head, the Heat are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Minnesota.
It's really hard to back either team and feel good about it in this one, but I just get a feeling that the Heat can bounce back from such a bad loss and get a much-needed win on the road, especially given their strong record against the Wolves lately.
